Nameri National Park
Nestled along the crystal-clear waters of the Kameng River at the foothills of the Eastern Himalaya, Nameri is one of Assam’s most tranquil wilderness destinations. Its evergreen forests, bamboo groves, rolling riverbanks and open grasslands offer visitors a peaceful introduction to Northeast India. Travellers can enjoy riverside walks, rafting, wildlife watching, nature photography and village visits. Together with the adjoining Pakke landscape, Nameri forms an important conservation area home to elephants, gaur, leopards, rich birdlife, butterflies and remarkable plant diversity.
